Born on Chicago's South Side and raised in Florida as one of 11 children, Michael discovered early that he had two places he felt completely at home — on the field and on the stage.

Fourth grade

He picked up a guitar in fourth grade and soon began performing in school talent shows, writing songs and chasing the idea that music could become something bigger.

St. John Neumann High School

At St. John Neumann High School, football nearly became that future instead. As a standout quarterback, Michael had his sights set on playing at the college level.

The turn

Then the pandemic changed the playbook. Music moved from the background to the center of his life.

The Back Country Boys

Michael went on to found and front The Back Country Boys, developing his voice, stage presence and connection with live audiences.

Solo

Now stepping forward as a solo artist, he's bringing those experiences into a sound of his own — modern country storytelling infused with pop melody, energy and heart.
